Spazzju Kreattiv TheatreSpazju Kreattiv, Pjazza Kastilja, Valletta.
St James Cavallier was designed by 16th century architect Francesco Laparelli da Cortona as an arms and
gunpowder deposit. The building was renovated and transformed into “a centre for creativity“ by architect
Prof. Richard England, as Malta’s principal millenium project. It was later rebranded as ‘Spazju Kreattiv’. The
theatre in the round was constructed inside a pre-existing cistern within the Cavallier. It forms part of a
network of culture-related spaces that include a music room, exhibition spaces and an arthouse cinema.
